(Fares Effective: Jan 1, 209) GO With GUS Pass $23.00, Day Pass $10.00, Children under 5 ride for free when accompanied by an adult. Students 6-18 years and/or are full-time elementary or high school students with proper card identification. Sheridan College and Adult Learning Centre students are considered adults.
GO with GUS/GO Train Tickets/Passes: Buy a "GO With GUS" Pass $23.00 and pay only $0.50 when you show your valid GO Train ticket/pass to the driver when boarding. (GO Group passes do not qualify for $0.50 rides.)
What's allowed on
- Oakville Transit only accepts Oakville Transit tickets and passes.
- Transfers: cannot be used for a layover. Transfers must not be crumpled or damaged in any way in order to be valid.
- Mississauga Transit/Burlington Transit/HSR: transfer free! Transfers must be time validated by the other system and not expired. (HSR transfers are now accepted on Oakville buses at the Burlington Downtown Terminal).
- Shirts and shoes required
- Only working (service) dogs are allowed on buses. Other small pets may be transported in locked steel/plastic cages
- In line skates must be removed before boarding, and bicycles and other large objects are not permitted on buses
- no smoking, eating and/or drinking on the buses
- child should be removed from stroller s, which must be folded
Oakville Transit offers four community bus routes (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green) which run on certain days of the week. The Community Bus is a low floor, completely accessible 15 passenger vehicle available for anyone to use. Oakville Transit requires that all passengers use seatbelts which are available on the Community Buses.
The buses operate fixed route service Monday through Saturday, from about 10 am until 4:40 pm. Their schedule then vary depending upon the day of the week. One route, the Yellow, runs the same route each day. The Community Bus does not operate during Statutory Holidays.
Zone Express buses
Zone Express dispatch develops unique routes based on customer pick-up and drop-off points. You are picked up at the closest bus stop to your origin and dropped off at the bus stop closest to your destination. The cost is $2.50 cash fare exact change, tickets or passes.
Oakville is divided into four zones (basically, four quadrants) with the Oakville GO Station as the central meeting point for all buses between zones. If you're travelling within the same zone, you don't change buses, but if you're travelling to a different zone, transfers are made at Oakville GO Station.
Zone Express is available Sundays from 8am to 8pm, and Monday - Saturday from 9:25 pm to 12:25 am), except where Routes 14 and 24 operate during Monday to Saturday evenings,. At 12:25 am and 1:25 am, the Zone buses meet the last 2 trains from Toronto at the Oakville GO Station, and provide drop offs only.
Persons with disabilities
Oakville Transit provides a "care-A-van" curb to curb transportation service for people with mobility challenges, which is provided Monday to Friday, 6 am to midnight, and Saturday 7 am to midnight. Fare: Cash: $2.50 or by ticket, which can be bought 10/$21.00 only from the Transit Office.
The Oakville care-A-van can be used to travel within the urban area of Oakville, though connections are possible between Burlington Handi Van and Peel Transhelp. It is the responsibility of the users to make their own bookings that connect at transfer points.
Available at the Downtown Bus Terminal, 430 John Street. Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., & Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. or call 905-639-0550 24 hours a day.
Cash fares are $2.75 for adults, seniors, and secondary school students. Fares are $1.60 for elementary school students, and kids under 5 travel free when with a parent. The GO Fare,

You can also purchase a ComboCard, basically an stored-value electronic payment for transit, for any amount (minimum $10), which gives you the same price as buying a book of tickets. Just swipe your card at the fare box and when you hear a "beep" your car's payment has been accepted.
Persons with disabilities
Burlington Transit provides several mobility options for riders with special needs. These include low floor buses, Handi-Van and Taxi Scrip. Low floor buses are fully accessible to passengers who used wheelchairs, scooters and walkers, and the low floor bus routes and times are highlighted in the schedules. You can also call BusLINE at 905-639-0550 to confirm that an accessible bus is available on your route and schedule.
Handi-Van is a specialized service operated by Burlington Transit for physically challenged persons who have been approved for transportation by the Handi-Van Advisory Committee. For more information Call 905-639-5158.
Fare Integration allows you to go to or from Hamilton and Oakville on HSR and Oakville Transit FREE. Just pay the regular fare on the first bus of your trip, ask the driver for a transfer slip and present your transfer to the driver when you change buses.
Burlington Transit has an arrangement with GO Transit, so transfers to/from a GO Train are only $.50 per trip. To take advantage of the Fare Integration Program, simply show the bus driver your valid GO pass or ticket when you board the bus and put $.50 into the farebox (or use a ComboCard).
Dial a Ride
Dial-a-Ride replaces regular bus service with taxicabs on Routes 8A, 9, 11, 12A, and 15 during hours when ridership is low.
Town of Milton now has five fixed routes that run approximately every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekdays, with conections between all routes at the Milton GO station. The Town of Milton is is working with the Town of Oakville to use Oakville's smaller, commuter-friendly buses

GO commuter transfer: buy a GO Commuter Pass $20.00 when you show your valid GO Train ticket/pass on boarding the bus, and your GO Commuter Pass, just deposit $0.50 into the farebox. GO Group passes do not qualify for $0.50 rides.
If you require more than one bus to get to your destination, please ask the driver for a transfer when you first board. When travelling to and from work in the greater Toronto area by GO train. Show the bus driver your valid GO pass/ticket and you can transfer to or from Milton Transit for just 50 cents per ride.

Government of Ontario (GO) Transit is the interregional transit system for the Greater Toronto, Hamilton, and Oshawa areas. GO Transit began in 1967 as a single rail line and now is a comprehensive network of bus and rail services covering over 8,000 sq km. GO trains and GO buses efficiently connect with municipal transit systems throughout the network.
GO Transit provides modern rail commuter service to Toronto from Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville. These communities are serviced by two GO Train lines: the A-line from Hamilton to Toronto's Union Station and the C-Line with connects Milton with Union Station. Oakville has rail service seven days per week with express trains during peak hours. On weekends, there are bus connections from Burlington to Oakville trains. Halton Hills and Milton offer rail service during peak times to Union Station, Monday to Friday with connections at Union Station to other destinations.
There is extensive GO Bus service to various locations, seven days per week. There are three routes
- the Hamilton-407-York bus, and the Milton-Union Station bus. The 407 buses connect Hamilton, McMaster University, Burlington-Hwy407/Dundas bus stop, the Bronte (Hwy. 407 & Bronte Rd.) Bus Stop, Oakville GO Station, Sheridan College, the Oakville (Hwy 407 & Trafalgar Rd) Bus Stop, and York University.
- the Milton -Union Station bus, which fills the low traffic times of the Milton GO Train schedule
- The Milton 401 -Finch Station bus, with 9 morning departures, with the ride taking about 1-1/2 hours.
