Founded in 1968, this attractive course with mature stands of oak, birch, maple and pine trees is neatly tucked away on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment. Expanded to 18 holes for the 1998 season the exceptionally tight, tree lined fairways put water in play on just about every hole. The large greens are all well protected by water and/or sand. The 450 yard 13th hole is a deceptively difficult par five, with a creek crossing the fairway about 80 yards in front of the green on this dogleg left, and offers long hitters an opportunity for birdie.

Brantford Golf and Country Club, with its proud traditions since 1879, is the fourth oldest club in North America, preceded only by the Toronto Club, Royal Quebec and Royal Montreal, the latter being the oldest golf club in North America. In 1906 the club moved to its present site, originally with nine holes, expanded to 18 in 1920. Curling became a part of the club in the fall of 1962, and in 2001 the present Clubhouse was built.

Qualifying Course For Canadian Open, with two courses. The Old Course measures 6622 yards, with lush, tree-lined fairways and extremely small greens (and water is non-existent). The par 4, 1st hole has trees lining both sides of the 397 yard fairway to a frugal bunker-protected green. There are four par 5s of 500 yards or more, and the 541-yard, 6th hole is one of the longest and arguably the most difficult hole on the Old course, with a sharp dogleg right.

The New Course is longer at 6645 yards with water coming into play on five holes, and with contoured greens. The first hole is a short 481-yard, par 5, with a slight dogleg left, that is reachable in two. The 7th hole, a par 5 dogleg left, is a distant 588 yards making it virtually unreachable in two. The Signature 192-yard, par 3 9th hole has water guarding the front of an undulating green with mounding to the back of the hole hiding three well-placed bunkers, leaving no alternative but to land your ball on the green.

Set against the towering cliffs of Mount Nemo on the Niagara Escarpment, golfers enjoy rolling terrain and tree-lined fairways, with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside on this 1973 course designed by Rene Muylaert. The 16th hole, a 325 yd dog-leg left, has been called “The Greater Toronto Area’s Supreme Short Par 4” by The Toronto Star’s Bogey Man. It winds its way from an elevated tee, throughout a well-treed valley, back up to a very tricky elevated green.

Royal Ontario is a new course, started in 2001, on land that was originally an equestrian center, with large meadows and dense woods covering the acreage. Architect Boris Danoff designed the course with generous fairways to allow for aggressive play off the tees and wide openings to the greens, and five very different sets of tee blocks to provide a different game with each visit, varying the length from 5225 to 7074 yards.
